A river at night with buildings on one side with lots of street lights. A bridge is far away and close up is a steep drop for the river.

Working in partnership, we maximise the positive impact of investment to create opportunities for people and places.

Our partners

The Borderlands Partnership consists of five forward-thinking local authorities, whose ambition is to underpin sustainable and inclusive economic growth for the Borderlands region.

  • Cumberland Council

  • Dumfries & Galloway Council

  • Northumberland County Council

  • Scottish Borders Council

  • Westmorland and Furness Council

The five councils have signed a legally binding 'Collaboration Agreement', which forms the basis of the Borderlands' Governance Plan. The Plan sets out the arrangements for the oversight and delivery of the Borderlands Inclusive Growth Deal, ensuring that a robust governance framework is in place to provide assurance to all partners, Government bodies and the wider Borderlands regional partners, that there is open and transparent decision making and project delivery.
